Sherry Rothwell

Sherry Rothwell is a mother of two, a real food educator and prolific writer with a passion for exploring woman’s rites of passage as spiritual path -and healing as a journey of self actualization.

Sherry’s written work on birth and health have been published in various community publications as well as featured in the world reknowned natural parenting magazine Kindred and the Natural News Network.

“Working with Sherry gives you the feeling you are in the presence of a wise medicine woman. You just want to pull a shawl around your shoulders and sit at the hearth, soaking it all up as she talks. Nodding. Feeling and knowing the wisdom that you are receiving and that’s now been entrusted to you…”
Adrienne Percy

After the homebirth of her son Isaiah, Sherry was left with many unanswered questions and a deep sense that not only had something gone ”off course”, but that something integral had been entirely missing from the experience altogether.

Sherry felt driven to discover the truth, and began a 10 year journey- learning from birth educators rooted in tradition and grounded in the physiological birth paradigm.

Sherry feels strongly that birth is primarily a family experience to be embraced inside of and protected by a supportive community. Sherry shares her personal experience of community supported birth in her book Nurturing the New Family. She is a passionate advocate for postpartum care and is currently initiating a local project that mentors women (friends, sisters, aunties, grandma’s etc.) in how to nurture postpartum women with consciously prepared food and hands on healing practices.
