Adrienne Percy is a food educator, mother and blogger. She is passionate about bringing a holistic approach to health and wellness and sharing that with mothers to help bring balance and vitality back into their lives.
If you ask her, she’ll tell you that the real purpose of her work is to help people listen to that little voice inside them that insists there’s ‘something more’.
After years of trudging through a ‘perfect’ existence, Adrienne left behind a successful career as communications tactician and started from scratch- rebuilding her life on a more spirit-led foundation.
Today, her life is like the diverse prairie grassland – earthy, beautiful and wondrous. She lives in gratitude, honouring that voice that led her to do what she ‘wants’ to do, rather than sticking to what she ‘should’ do.
She spends her time nurturing her young family, sharing her expertise through e-courses and workshops and helping propel change in the system through her work with organizations like the Food Label Movement and the People’s Food Policy Project.
Adrienne’s background:
Adrienne spent more than a decade working as a print and broadcast journalist covering local and national stories for CBC (the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) as well as many other news organizations.
She covered major agricultural issues such as Canada’s first BSE outbreak, grain belt droughts and was interviewed for stories about the dangers of lead paint in children’s toys and Bisphenol-A (BPA) in baby bottles.
She also has particular insight into the food industry, having worked for one of the largest grain exporters in the world.
Adrienne was honoured with a Manitoba Human Rights award and, in 2012, she was recognized by Food Matters Manitoba for her contributions to the local and national food movement.
